The whole hardware is embedded only in 2 Bull racks with water-cooled door

The Centre have a total of 81 computing nodes divided into :

  • 72 generic nodes for CPU computations
  • 2 SMP nodes with big memory
  • 8 hybrid nodes for visualization and GPU calculations

for a computing performance rate of 35 TFlops.

Generic nodes

4 BullX chassis with each 18 Bull B510 blades
For each B510 blade :

  • 2 processors Intel(R) E5-2670 - 2.60 GHz - 8 cores
  • 64 GigaBytes memory

Total : 144 processors - 1152 cores for 4608 GigaBytes memory

Big memory node

1 Bull R423-E3 rack server :

  • 2 processors Intel(R) E5-2670 - 2.60 GHz - 8 cores
  • 256 GigBytes memory

1 Bull R428-E3 rack server :

  • 4 processors Intel(R) E5-4650L - 2.60 GHz - 8 cores
  • 512 GigBytes memory

Total : 6 processors - 48 cores for 768 GigaBytes memory

Hybrid nodes

1 Bull chassis with 8 Bull B515 blades
For each B515 blade :

  • 2 processors Intel(R) Xeon(R) E5-2440 @ 2.40GHz - 6 cores
  • 48 GigaBytes memory
  • 2 GPU Nvidia M2070Q cards

Total : 16 processors - 96 cores for 16 GPU Nvidia M2070Q cards and 384 gigaBytes memory

Switchs Infiniband

  • 4 Mellanox switchs (of 36 QDR ports) with redundant power supply
  • 5 Infiniband integrated switchs in Bull chassis

For administration, use and web server

  • 1 Web rack server calculs.unice.fr
  • 1 rack server for managing the entire cluster
  • 2 login nodes for users connection and jobs calculations
  • 1 NFS server connecting to 1 NetApp hard drive expansion bay with 25 TBytes for users home directories
  • 2 GPFS servers connecting to 2 NetApp hard drive expansion bay with 260 TBytes for users calculations workspace
